These are the rules for using macronomy.io. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t, please stop using the site. Macronomy is operated by Macronomy (“we,” “us”).

What we offer

Macronomy is a dashboard of U.S. macroeconomic indicators sourced from public datasets (FRED, BLS, BEA, Shiller, NY Fed, and similar public publishers). We compute summary statistics, percentile ranks, and a couple of composite gauges from those inputs and present them for general informational use.

Not financial advice

Macronomy is for general informational and educational use only. Nothing on the site is investment, financial, tax, legal, or professional advice, and nothing here is an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security or financial instrument. Economic indicators are noisy, the models we use are simplifications, and reasonable people interpret the same signals differently. Do your own research and talk to a qualified professional before making investment, business, or financial decisions. Past performance of any indicator is not predictive of future results.

Accounts and support

You can use the dashboard without an account. If you create one (via Google sign-in), you’re responsible for keeping the credentials of your linked Google account secure. The Macronomy support tier is an optional one-time or recurring payment that helps fund hosting; it does not unlock paid-only features today, and we’ll be explicit on the Support page if that ever changes. Subscription payments can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe customer portal we link from your account.

The newsletter is opt-in (you sign up, you confirm via email, you start receiving it). Every email includes an unsubscribe link you can use without signing in. If you mark our email as spam, we’ll remove you from the list immediately and not send you anything else.

Acceptable use

Don’t do anything that disrupts the service or other users: no scraping at volumes that interfere with normal operation, no attempts to bypass authentication or rate limits, no use of the site to send malicious or unlawful content, and no impersonation of other users. If you build a tool or integration that calls our public endpoints, please be reasonable about volume and identify yourself with a User-Agent.

Data sources and accuracy

The underlying data comes from public publishers via FRED and equivalent feeds. We do our best to keep the dashboard current and the calculations correct, but we make no warranty that any number on the site is accurate, complete, or timely. Publishers revise data; FRED occasionally republishes back-history; our calculators have bugs. The site is provided “as is” and we disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Macronomy and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including (but not limited to) loss of profits, trading losses, or damages from reliance on any number, label, or interpretation displayed on the site. Our aggregate liability for any direct claim arising from your use of Macronomy is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top when we do, and for material changes that affect existing users we’ll email a notice. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
